Wrong, the commander tag enables us to command the 15 of our group because there is no other way of doing so. Second i'm not being rude to them if they aren't actively hurting the group but thats what happens when they die and let the enemy rally. Third if the person knows about teamspeak and chooses to ignore it, doesn't look up builds, dies, calls out wrong information in map chat, steals supply etc. and doesn't respond to our advice then I'd rather lose them because having them around holds us back from making this server the best. Laughing about it keeps it fun in teamspeak and also teaches people, I was a noob once too and if it wasn't for people yelling at me in map chat I would not have learned. If you can't handle "hey noob quit taking supply from castle" or "who is the dumbass who threw a ram down here" then you need to grow up, this is an online game we learn from critism.Wrong, night times this week have been by far the best our Australian team has stepped it up and as far as I can see we have decent coverage, during American primetime even when we have enough people on we aren't utilising them properly. Just this week our improvements have been noticed we've gained a couple of new commanders from higher up servers who noticed our skill.Time to step up ladies, no more excuses lets play the best we can, hard nosed, dedicated good players who have a laugh foster a community of just that and its who we need to climb the ladder. Sigh... I won't answer the first part, Rikkity already did that for me. Now for the rest, do you need to make fun of others mistakes to keep it fun in teamspeak? i certainly don't, just saying. When i started in WvW no one was yelling at me to make me learn, my guildies that were playing in WvW before me taught me everything they knew, and the good commanders that were on did the rest. I know that there are people the are always doing something wrong and just don't care about everyone else, but hey those are not the ones i'm talking about, i'm talking about the new players that have no clue whats going, there is no need to yell at them because you think thas how someone should be taught, because that is not the right way to do it but if thats the only way you can do it then don't do it at all and just leave it to someone else more suited for the task. Aussie primetime and American primetime are not the only times that exist, because you know, theres that little gap while aussies go to bed and americans aren't on yet that we have no one on and 15 ppl are taking our stuff. And if this week night time was great then thats awesome, but it doesnt mean we dont need more people, you never know when people will be able to be on or not and if you're so hung up to the PPT game you should know that more people means we can take more stuff, and spread out better, and being able to hold that stuff while not holding back our offensive team that much, stuff like that.

Samhaim is totally correct. Rikkity also brings up a very good point. You don't like pugs, then don't ask for our help. Turn your tag off and we will happily go elsewhere. TS is also not the end all tool. There are numerous reasons that some people can't run it while playing or won't run it. Like hearing impaired individuals and computer limitations. You still need to use map chat as well to communicate with those people. If you refuse to use map chat, you are just lazy and not worth assisting and have no right to complain when they don't help you. Archilese and Alice are perfect examples of the commanders that are going to keep us on the bottom tier. You will never get the numbers you need to get us higher as long as you continue doing the things that have been pointed out to you that is running players off. You will just keep running them off and discouraging new players from joining the ranks. As long as that continues you may as well get used to being on the bottom and start enjoying the position you seem to like keeping us at. What really sucks is that most of our commanders have excellent tactical skills. They also have what I consider to be above average understanding of the game mechanics as well. But, none of it does any good if you lack the social skills to get enough people to follow you into battle to accomplish our goals. Archilese said, "I'd rather lose them because having them around holds us back from making this server the best." It works both ways. We have commanders that are holding us back from being the best server. And simply because they don't know how to talk to other people. Commanders are totally worthless without us and we need the organization and tactical skills of the commanders or we're just as worthless. So unless all of the commanders start learning how to deal with people we will all stay worthless together. On the bottom, like we are now. Anyone know a used car salesman that might be willing to give them a seminar?

However you guys decide not to look down. And ts might not be the end all but its a big reason to why we r winning in winnable otherwise fights we need pugs. U may not like it, I might not like it but that's at least 50% at the moment of who is in WvW. If we really want to get better we need more numbers, more people staying on commanders, and wayyyyyy more cooperation between everyone. I'm guilty at yelling at pugs, but not without reason. U may say don't care about pugs. Well I take it as my responcability as a commander to keep as many ppl alive as possible and if people r not following orders its not gonna work. We need to work as a unit not chickens with their heads chopped off running round trying to better ur character. WvW isfor the better of the server. And I do care when u have put in as much time to WvW as most the people here u deserve to be in a higher teir. Yes we r a good community but we also want more people on the server so if we start moving up we r going to get recognition and is going to let ppl switch over to our server. WvW may be about fun but its a competitive beast and must be treated as such. If u don't like that pls don't play WvW sPvP and PvE will be just a fun for you. We need dedicated players bettering themselves Fr the sake of the server. Its not about me, you, but for all of us. So plz take WvW more seriously

So unless all of the commanders start learning how to deal with people we will all stay worthless together. So you want us to pat people on the back for running shitty builds... and that's going to move us out of tier eight? Solid plan, brah. Solid plan.

Honestly, I've told myself that I'd stay out of this race... But, I can say a few things that might even shit out.
1.) Assuming "perfect" conditions(no lag, hella good computer), a person *could* survive in a Zerk build. Although, as far as "Better Options" go, you'd be better with a mix of Knight/Cavalier EQ. Why? High Pow/Toughness, decent Precision/Crit rate. Hell, slap in a piece or two of Valkyrie for some extra Health.
2.) As much as we may wish to argue it, the "best" build -for anyone- is the one they're most comfortable with. Fact is, I've seen a few folks pull shit with "Glassy" EQ that I'd have trouble doing with a more "Tanky" spec. Why? They're *good* with their build. Hell, why not use our "Glass Cannon" fans as skirmishers? That, plus a core of defense-specced bastards could wreck havok amongst our enemy. Especially if the GC's are Staff Eles/LB Rangers/Rifle Warriors.
3.) As far as behaviour is concerned. The issue I see is as follows: Understand that this game is played by more than one age group. As such -and this is no slight to Archilese or Alice, whom I've had successful runs with- we *may* wish to go a tad more moderate ... assuming that "X" percent of our forces -potential or current- *are* under the "Age of Majority." Yes, I know ... PC sucks asses. But, it might help our numbers and cohesion. (OOTH: I have noticed a downturn in inter-Guild conflict, and this is kickass. I do hope we can keep it up.)

Nobody, i will have to argue on you with the Arch and Alice thing. Alice is a ace when it comes to wiping other zergs, yeah he trolls like bitch, but what can you do? Cry about it? No you really can't. Arch is amazing from what I've seen of him and still amazes me every time i run with him but that doesn't mean he is perfect, and as for being a pug. Be a pug it doesn't make us any better or worse, yeah I'm a TS commander, i agree with Alice and arch's point, but that my choice. If you want to pug then you can pug, hell being a pug is the funnest possible thing you can do in WvW pissing off a commander is very fun...

Pissing off a commander is not fun, it also isn't helpful. And I never said Alice was not good at what he does. On the contrary, he is great at what he does. What I am saying is he will never have enough people following him when he does what he does to ever accomplish our long range goals. He and others have to learn to gain the respect and loyalty of others so they will want to help. You can not demand respect, you have to earn it. Or at least make people feel like you have. I have run with all of you guys at one time or another. I never said any of you weren't good at what you do. What I am saying is, no matter how good you are......it is not enough without others. You can't get enough help with the attitudes some of you have. BTW Dan, I'm not Krak....that was funny. You have the knowledge and skills, now you need the numbers. Just be a bit nicer to people in public forums and you can get more people involved that are on your side. Once they decide they like you it will be much easier for you to make suggestions for builds, tactics, etc and get them to want to try them out. Demanding that they do stuff they don't want to do or as Malegryne pointed out doesn't work for their play style isn't going to work. They just won't do it. You have to finesse them a bit. Win them over and they will do just about anything you want them to. It really doesn't take that much effort. Anyway, you asked for feedback and I gave you some. All it seems to have done is piss you guys off at me (which was not my intention) so I'm done.

This thread has been up for a day and already has half of the views that the "WvW Builds" stickied-thread has. I want everyone to reflect on that for a moment. The problem here isn't the commanders not "being nice enough" or "earning our respect"; the community itself is the one that needs to change.

One thing has nothing to do with the other, this thread has new posts every hour or so and people want to know what new things others are saying, as opposed to the Build Thread where you only need to look up once if you need to, and only go back to it if it gets updated. Commanders are not detached from the community, if the community needs to change the commanders need to change as well.

I agree with u about change to everyone but by change I mean more serious which means actually listening when the commanders make calls be willing to sit in a tower and watch to make sure we know where the enemy zergs are. As well as scouting and spending more time in WvW coming from a T1 server I know what it takes to be the best and its commitment which to be honest alot of us r lacking.
the commanders need to be more involved In helping the newbies but y'all also gotta be open to learning if u are just there to better ur character stats then we will NVR get better. And from the sound of it most of u would like to win our teir or get out. I've learned alot about commanding from being here as well as I did in blackgate and if there is any similarities between the 2 its the drive to win amungst the dedicated community

Well if we really want to improve our current WvW community (we have come a long way from the days of DR|KAIN|FC match ups we can not deny this) but there are some things that must be considered.
1: Criticism goes both ways, WE ALL must realize this. It doesnt mean shit what side of the fence you are on how this community is|how a commander acts/leads| or if you just dont plain like someone. If people are going to get all huffy over criticism (whether constructive or not) than they shouldnt be giving their two cents on it. -not trying to start fights with that, i thought it was a common sense rule, if you cant take criticism, dont administer it to others.
2: Ties into the previous one: everyones got an opinion, it happens. We cannot stop it, however we can listen to that little voice that says "if we say this, will this cause more of a shit storm?" (this is in response to those who will disagree with what a commander says and decide to troll them for either a bad charge/defense/ or in some stupid ass reasons for how they colored their characters armor.)
3: Egos: people do have them, we can not change it. Internet tends to amplify that kind of shit, so here is what i have to say on that. WvW is a TEAM GAME, if you wanna be a little number junkie who likes to stroke his epeen and inflate his ego get out of WvW and go to spvp with all the other epeeners. If we want to grow as a community, we got to let go of all that (im the best, rest are crap ego shit) we cannot grow if we are an army of individuals.
4: emotions/stress can run high in a team setting, and this can cause problems. We just need to understand that frustrated/angry people just say shit they dont really mean. Happens, we just cannot get all TITS UP about that shit and go "Fuck them! They are mean/troller so fuck em." Shit happens, we get angry/frustrated...we tunnel vision. Type faster/talk faster than we think. Happens, we just gotta take a deep breath, or if you get that angry over something in a game just take a break from the game. Helps no one, and only hurts the community when you are angry.
This was not pointed at anyone in particular, this was more as a look at the community as a whole. We cannot improve if we dont look inward and go "wtf are we doing" and understand that those points i listed can be very true. If anyone finds a problem with anything i listed, than i will gladly hear your side of the issue. I will not go all TITS up over what you say, i will take it into consideration and not hold it against you. Let us be like the rise of the roman empire, not that piddly shit that fractured and fell apart due to pissy parties over their long reign.

Sorry about that nobody, i misunderstood what you were saying, and trust me i know what it's like to get pissed off by pugs as i am a commander myself, that's why i feel as if i could say that it's fun when your not receiving it.

ive found its not the pugs im pissed at, its the noobs. people who listen are just fine. its people who i try to get to do something thru /m, /s, caps lock, turning on my tag, and repeating myself 5x without response that make me rage.
the people i work best with are people wholl either listen to what im saying the first time or will clearly state their thoughts, pug or ts zerg leader makes no difference.
i honestly dont have any ideas on how to get people who dont listen to listen. because there is a very marked difference in the success of an operation when people are just THERE enough and paying attention.

"You DO realize this is just a game, right? It doesn't matter if we stack on you or not, so stop getting mad when we don't."
"INCOMING ZERG." How many? "AROUND FOUR."
"Yeah, I don't really like thinking about my other skills when I'm playing. That's why I run full signets on my Warrior."
"Running a bunker build is optional. I still kill people, and I'm zerkers."
"Stop telling me to use (skill suggested) all the time."
"Yeah, but you do more damage with a great-sword than a hammer."
"I'm down, PICK ME UP. PICK ME UP. PICK ME UP. PICK ME UP. PICK ME UP." xDDDDD Totally agree And is not "pick me up", is "help help help help help help help help" xD PD: Nugeeeeeeeeeeeeeeet we loveeeeeeeee uuuuuuuuuu ><

Commanders trolling other players in map chat is counter productive. example the other day was Alice insisting on killing Siegerazer after the players were already pushed back against the insistence of other players saying not to do the opposing players couldn't use him for a little while. why was it necessary to continue killing Siegerazer? It wasn't funny it was annoying and strategically stupid because when Siegerazer was killed they used him to take the tower. That kind of stuff makes people not want to follow these commanders. I understand wanting to improve the server's status but you can cordial at the same time and try to work with people who are more difficult instead of writing them off as a lost cause.
