Hey Fergs.
Some of us have been talking. Somewhere between somebody calling my mom a whore and me telling somebody else that they may be functionally retarded, there was a good idea fielded. Some of us want to put together a group of WvWers that want to dominate our tier. We're not really looking to start a new guild -- please, continue to enjoy and rep the ones that you're in -- but what we're looking for is a good sized group of people that want to gear right and play right to roll the competition. That means exotic armor toughness/vit builds (or viable alternatives, but we're gunning towards survivability when running through zergs. Glass is basically a no-no). It means either knowing how combo fields work -- or the desire to learn -- and keeping to a single commander as we push through the enemy. It means holding onto certain skills until the commander asks for them to drop, as well as knowing what types of attacks to drop in different situations. Right now, we're trying to gauge interest; if there seems to be enough, we'll put together something more formal. Please PM me here if it's something you want to participate in. If we get around 20 people, we'll take another step towards organizing.
Thanks.

I was thinking of starting a group called necro squad 5, the top 5 necros of our server. I am certainly for your idea, infact I would be willing to invest a large amount of time in it. Join TS, I'd be happy to talk about this

Vitality is an after thought. It's not important really in WvW. Toughness is the most imporant stat for WvW. it reduces the amount of incoming damage.
I'll say that again.
It reduces the amount of incoming damage.
I suggest a mix of bunkers/ high crit/toughness builds.

We have made a guild for thieves, and necros so far. nugget, if you can get on TS, I'll set up the engineer guild with you. Chao, this is slightly different, since we are not gonna be providing a social network based off of server, but instead one based off of profession and build (also server). This allows us to optimize the builds of everyone participating in that certain guild

I would be up for the challenge mike it sounds really good! I don't think I am one of the best 5 necros lol idk if I make for top 50 too tbh lol... But I'm willing to try if u need ppl! I am on full rabid set which gives me 2k+ toughness now if u want vitality too I could give it a go even if I think tough/ prec/ cond is the top for necros.

Send me mail at King Canute X I am still recruiting more. Anyway if you aren't, the purpose of the group is to PRODUCE 50 elitist necros, from 5 teachers. Thats the biggest issue that people don't understand. Everyone just things its a straight elitist group, but its gonna be used to train players to get to the skill level of the top 5 players

Just my opinion, these class specific guilds might not be the best idea. esp. if you are making them exclusive.
Single class groups roaming are usually pretty easy to counter. The game is designed to have certain classes work well with other certain classes. Theres a reason we run 2 staff eles/2 d/d eles with hammers/glamours. Just for an example.
In my opinion you might be best to just keep your individual guilds recruiting hard. Than train up everyone in your guilds. Have open nights where x guild is running it so you all get to see what they are doing as opposed to what you are doing.
FA did this. It might be worth looking at.
I wish you guys the best of luck no matter which way you go though!

They aren't gonna be exclusive. Since there is one for each profession, we can organize zergs by saying like: Okay we need 2 hammer warriors, 4 staff eles, 3 glamour mesmers, etc, etc. Its so we have more control over what goes into our large zergs, and the quality of the player (skill, sportsman ship, etc, etc)

You going to run out of guild slots. Make one for this purpose. Don't fragment it, 7 guilds seems kinda silly. Besides some play more than one class.

Instead of creating so many guilds, why not just set up the ranks in the [FERG] guild? Identify people by what they mainly play in WvW. Having people set up as Commander ranks, and so on, isn't particularly useful. Players in the [FERG] guild are going to be active enough to know which players are active commanders and worthwhile to follow. It'll be a lot of effort at the start due to having to setup members retroactively but it might actually make the guild useful other than as a banner for TS and forums.
