Tutorial for WvW Siege Placement

Most commanders know well about good siege placement but for those commanders/pugs that don't we can share our knowledge with you here.
Most effective/cheap way to get into a tower/keep is Rams but if the tower is well defended this can be hard. so getting into a tower priority siege progression is (Golem/Ram -> Cata -> Treb) Golems are good for if you know most of the BL is uncontested. build a couple and role thru the map or if you want to hit something hard and fast (before the enemy can react). Catas with there large range can be put outside of AC range and therefore good if there are a few smart defenders that have set up AC's. Treb's are the bee's knee's of ranged siege with a massive 10000 range! these can be placed within/on the walls of a tower and still hit the walls of another tower!
Tactics:
Ram's.
Defending vs Rams - The recent cata splash thru gate was removed so using an AC is good enough to scare ppl away from the door/ram. 2 AC spamming the door will force the enemy to use another mean's of entry.
Offensive Rams - 2 rams is fast and effective vs a Paper gate (not reinforced) where as 3 for a reinforced. try to AOE AC's that any defenders may have gotten up or they will make it hard to stay on the rams.
Cata's.
Defending vs Cata's - Ballista's are the bane of Cata's try set up a ballista to wipe the cata. some catas are to well placed and cant be ballista'ed in witch case a defensive treb (if you really want to defend the tower) or a portal bomb on the Cata is most efficient.
Offensive Catas - take advantage of the 4000 range on the Cata place on/near max range to stop AC's destroying them. AOE all ballista you see going up! as i have said b4 Ballista are the bane of Cata's!
Treb's.
Defending Vs Trebs - Counter trebbing is very effective but may be hard if they have built the treb 1st. good way to get a counter treb set-up is to gather 10+ ppl with supply on you then place the treb. All build and get the 1st shot off at their treb. portal bombing trebs is also effective but sometime's the treb is inside a tower and can't be gotten to. trebs are hard to defend against and may in the case of defending a Keep be more efficient to let them take the outer wall out and retain supply for defence of the inner wall. Most of the time the inner wall is not reachable by a treb in another tower so the inner wall is easier to defend.
Offensive Treb's - Utilise the 10000 range! place the treb on the inner most lip of the wall furthest from the face of the wall to prevent enemy AOE's from being dropped on it from outside the wall. Catch counter trebs as soon as you see them being built! if they get a counter treb up on you and destroy your treb you are up for a LONG siege and allot of wasted money!
Golem's.
Defending Vs Golems - (Note: the recent patch mean's cata's build inside the door cannot hit the golems) sometimes a mass of golems (4+) is unstoppable if they are well organised and your defence isn't. Dish out the damage on them! AOE's direct damage everything! unload on them. golems cannot be repaired so the more damage you do the better! 2+ AC's are effective but often won't stop them from getting in. the most effective damage to golem's is..... Cannon's. If the tower has them target the golem's! the Hp will fly down.
Offensive golem's - a gathering of 3+ is most effective and can be moved Quickly through the map with the Mesmer skill portal. This is the fastest way to colour a map. destroy siege upgrades on tower's they will hurt the golems (Note: if you stand on the left/right sides of the door you can avoid the oil. only on Keep doors). Golem's are most efficient to be used for there speed, get them to the tower door an smash it open b4 any defenders arrive. under no circumstance should you golem rush a well defended keep they will just destroy the golem's. (note: Mesmer Quickness ULT no longer speeds up golem attack's)
General Notes:
- For those new to WvW or inexperienced with siege placement. Gather a bit of knowledge b4 placing siege, you will only waste money and supply placing a treb 15 foot from the gate and you may stuff up the commander's plan.
- Commanders generally have a good idea of siege placement so gather on them if they ask for your supply.

Please post Pic's of good places to put up siege (E.G Cata on the middle island to hit Greenbriar on our BL) also explain the reason why this is a good spot.
