Another issue I would like to present to the board is the topic of espionage. It was a hunch back in the day that Devona's Rest was somehow tapping our communications, they knew when and where we would attack, our least protected assets, warband movements down to even hitting trebuchets behind cliffs inside castles. It was then that to sate my curiosity I had an operative sojourn to Devona's Rest to investigate this. And as it turns out commanders there had agents on Kaineng's side feeding back information to the Devona's. And as almost all communications had to be done by map chat, this made the job easy. Even with communications moved down to squad level and party level, this particularly commander had so many agents under his employ that it filled an entire guild. His eyes and ears were everywhere. Fortunately Kaineng had one advantage later on, in that I believe the bulk of it's population comprised of Asians from Taiwan and all over forming the large 'Survivors Of Searing' guild. And as such Devona Rest's agents then had difficulty deciphering and sending correct information back.
If our opposition is as strong in zerging as they are on organization and unity, then it would be misinformed to believe that they would not employ the same tactics of espionage and sabotage that Devona's did.

when you move up tiers this is an every day occurance. We constantly have TC/Kn players in our Ts3 listening to us, we have people in our guilds watching where the commander tags are running to. Its pretty frustrating at times. Having said that. I have agents in all their servers too..
Just have to deal with it really. Use Ts3. it will limit this to a point.

The question then is not if they exist for we know they do. The question is how do we run counter-espionage. How do we fool them to our advantage knowing that they listen intently.

Just a suggestion, shut me down if you dont like it but, we as a server have a TS3 chanel that is open (hence we could get spyed appon)but us BS and a few other guilds have our own TS3 server's. Maybe we could have the guild TS do one objectinve differently form the open TS server as a decoy? only do this if we notice there movement is predicting ours.

theres really no point. I actually prefer to pop my tag say 'HERE I AM' pop orange swords and wait for the zergs to come. Thats just me. There is some significance to this. I remember once just one guardian with a shiny orange, he tanked a dozen on his own. And a shiny orange wielding guardian can be quite the enticing target. With him distracting the main attack force, his own side was free to capture keeps and castles in a blitzkrieg. A decoy of sorts, and we fell for it.

this is primarily what roaming guilds like mine do. We hunt swords, we pop them ourselves and let people know where we are simply because we have no fear of fighting them in the open. They show up, we farm them, they don't we either drop a ram and see what happens, or we move on and hit something else to help whatever commander is actually trying to take stuff
