Hello everyone, I was a commander in FC a few months back. I had a goal to create a nite crew that could overcome the horrible ELO hell we where stuck in at the time. I loved GW2 and all the wonderful ppl I met here. Due to irl life getting complicated I left for a while . About a week ago I jumped on to see how FC was going (I felt guilty for leaving at such a vital part of FC's break out). I am happy to say I see that FC is in good hands! I was thinking of coming back in a more casule basis but I need to be run thru the more finer details of what has changed since I left. Silly little meta questions like: Itemization- I had a full set of wvw toughness stacked gear designed for the pain train Zerg ball. Is this gear still relevant or have they brought out full ascended or something? Meta fighting- is stacking and blasting relevant fields moving in the "pain train" style still the meta? Any further info would be greatly appreciated P.s. If there is anyone from when I was playing give me a post here love to here what you been up to.

Hey nugget, good to hear from you. Your armour set and play style are still very much a part of the meta. You may need a little fine tweaking however, due to condi being as powerful as it is so you may need to have a little look at your trait/runes but I'm sure you will do just fine. It will b great to see you back in wvw

Hi Nugget,
Good to see you man and I hope your IRL complications are going well. In regards to your question:
1. For zerging, meta is still the same with the exception that there is a big emphasis on having a stronger backline. Since you were a front liner, I don't see this being an issue for you, however keep in mind that most groups will try to attack your backline when you are commanding. So try to keep them well positioned.
2. For roaming, meta is condition heavy. Ensure you have either lots of condition cleanses or melandru+lemongrass/Bowl of Poultry and Leek Soup.
3. Defending has become harder to do with all of the WXP masteries. Gates/walls go down quicker and if people on the map are reactive instead of proactive, you will have a hard time. If you sense that the enemy is about to do a big push, ensure all siege is kept refreshed or place new siege. Also if you have a couple of guild mates to lay some supply traps in common areas of attack - that can go a long way as well. Trebs are a big part of defending gates as well: 1. It takes out rams quickly. 2. It can drain supplies from the enemy if the person on treb has mastery.
I hope this helps man and we're glad to have you back.

Welcome back Nugget!
Pretty much everything Remnant said I'll just add that guild vs guilds are much more common and as such the average skill level of the WvW player has gone up, stacking for 5+ seconds while blasting fire fields doesn't work as well as simply using guardians to empower and moving quickly, things like mesmer veils and ele water fields are numbered so as to no overlap with other fields and general teamspeak communication is improved.
That said your average not in teamspeak uplevel pug is just as terrible as ever and are still easily farmed for bags.
Full Ascended gear is indeed out however the stat difference is small, for frontline guardian toughness is still the most important stat however most organised groups will balance between crit change/damage and toughness since the meta is actually 80% frontline (Guadian/Warrior) and 20% full glass necro's/Ele's, changes to these two classes have allowed for them to run almost full zerker and get away with it.

Hey Nugget, Great to see you back!
BS is still around and going strong, Mixs doesn't play much anymore but a lot of the older players still are around. We've grown a lot since you were last on.Still running quite often in WvW at night among other activities. Hope to see you when you get back on.

Nugget good to hear you are back mate. BS is going great atm we are increasing our WvW again and have a few commanders running around at Aussie times. I have been doing the majority of that job for a number of months but we have a few more now which is good.

Holy shit, man. I'd been wondering if you planned a comeback, good to see the answer being "yes." Past what's already been mentioned, you've also got a couple of new heals to burn skillpoints on. Don't have either on my own Engi, so I can't say as to how useful the class-only one is.
