Synopsis: myanimelist.net/anime/14813/Yahari_Ore_no_Seishun_Love_Comedy_wa_Machigatteiru. It's 'K-On!', but edgy enough for the dark and mysterious man-children like myself. Don't be fooled by the first episode; the protagonist, Hachiman (8-man), may seem like a socially-awkward sperg that will remind you of your cringe-worthy behavior throughout high school (and to a certain extent, he will), but his handling of situations leaves something to be admired. I'd recommend watching this series up to episode four or so. If you're not hooked by then though, there's no hope you will ever see the beauty behind the loner's antics.

I loved this show when it was airing. It was one of the best in the season with its epic monologues by Hachiman and its uniqueness in the way the main cast handled the slice of life. It is slice of life so it has all of the things you would expect to see in one but it sets itself apart from the norm and makes it self a great show that i would recommend even if you don't particularly like slice of life. You can watch it for free at Crunchyroll legally.

I tried watching two episodes of this last night. Just couldn't get into it. Thought it was trying too hard to be pretentious.
Should I keep watching?
Do the characters get any better?
Does the story get any better?

I'd recommend finishing up to episode five; if you don't relate to 8-man's personality by then you probably won't enjoy the rest of the series. The main thing to take from this plot is that it's not going to have a happy ending- 8-man doesn't follow the herd nor will he develop any intentions to. The most accurate adjective to describe the whole show is "bittersweet", much like high school and the teenage years in itself.

I just watched the first episode. Seems interesting enough to continue watching for sure.
