I don't know when it happened but we've gone from trying to plug the community (forums and teamspeak) to trying to recruit for our guilds.
The forums seem pretty dead, the teamspeak is filled with good people but hardly any new faces.
It gets redundant but we need to keep plugging our community guys, we've built a decent core but we have so much more potential and just need the bodies. So if we could bother, every one of us, to plug the forums and teamspeak at least once a day I think it would be great.

I'm a new face! I got TS set up for more coordination in WvWvW but I haven't had time to play since then.
To respond to your post, plugging TS and the forums is probably a good idea. The only reason I even found this forum is because I had a random idea to search for it specifically after coming across the Isle of Janthir forums.

The reason why there aren't many new voices in TS in my opinion is because there are too many small guilds that do not have a commander within their guild. As a result these guilds think poorly of commanders in general.
I believe that this is why many do not participate in WvW on a regular basis, if at all.

Good idea, ts really helps in our coordination of pushes in wvw. BUT I think everyone is noticing some guilds using their own channels so the borderlands channel can appear empty. This makes sense when it is a guild only event, but perhaps we could try and use the secondary channels available for each bl instead. I know having each commander in their own ts channel reduces confusion for me but when they are in their own guild channel I am not sure whether it is a guild only event or public.
Wasn't there over 130 people on ts a couple of weeks ago after a Friday night reset? Not bad.
Also, thank you to the Deth Dance party that visited us in our [GWTD]guild channel one Friday night, despite our obvious confusion, we did enjoy your visit.

I'm hoping after reset and a new match up activity will spike. I think we could do some advertising even on PvE maps. I also think there is too much splintering with all the different guilds and such. Why do we need 3-5 different WvW guilds? I know there is a minimum but I regularly see advertising for most guilds. I'm interested in joining a WvW guild btw if anyone would have me but I'm not on WvW all the time (just most of the time I'm playing). It is also almost impossible to coordinate when there isn't a commander. I noticed yesterday when we were getting overrun by GoM that we had at least as manyplayers in oour BL as they did but no one would listen to people telling them to build ACs or to help defend specific points

I noticed yesterday when we were getting overrun by GoM that we had at least as manyplayers in oour BL as they did but no one would listen to people telling them to build ACs or to help defend specific points We dont "need" guild in general but it helps keep track of players and have coordinated pushes along all faces of the map, like tonight we did a really good job had the major guilds all over and we had the highest PPT out of all 3 servers, however due to lack of players when we all started leaving our forces never got replaced so we lost everything again. So a certain guild might not seem interesting to a player and another guild might, but if all the guilds are working for the server, then that player will be asked to do what is needed, for example CO my guild is a hardcore WvW guild which may not seem interesting to some beacuse they like PvE to much or the hardcore scares them away, and thats when guild like TTA or Deth take that member and start steering them into WvW and if they fall in love with WvW thats 1 more member who is going to be running with our zerg. which is why we want multiple guilds. also if you are still looking for a guild [CO] will take ya in ?

"Where's the fire?"
The fire has become cooling embers. WvW for most players is a casual activity when playing GW2 and once they here something they don't like they just switch-off. This is not helped by equally uninformed/misguided people that are prolong that perception by promoting it.
These people claim that they are just informing their guildies of their past experiences - doing their civic duty. THEY ARE LYING! These people can't let the past go and positively contribute to a better future, and live in the past.
Everyone needs to be part of our server's future. The past is a cautionary tale. A tale that should not be forgotten. But is something to learn and build on.
Evil prospers where good people do nothing.
