Hi guys.

Can anyone please advise how the "Temple Karma Vendors" work?

I have 250k of Karma that I would like to spend on exotic armor from these vendors but every time I check these WP's are contested on the Cursed Shore.

Any attempt I have had to assault these WP have ended in a quick death

You won't be able to solo those events to unlock the temples.
It's a timing thing - either you're online while a ton of other players are with the intent of unlocking the temple merchants or you're alone wondering through the world of risen land.

It might be worth your while to guest on a high population server during prime time or weekends.

The dynamic events section of the official forums has threads for which temples are unlocked on which servers. If you catch it at the right time that will tell you where to guest:

forum-en.guildwars2.com/forum/game/events

Here's a list of which armor/stats are available at which temple:
