By best class, I mean both support and bunker class. I'm thinking of starting a new character and I just want an idea before I look for a build

Guardian currently provides the best support--look for spvp bunker builds. D/D ele comes a close second.

Well it may not be "the" best support/bunker but the warrior build some of us have been running in WvW is pretty stable for support and can keep people on their toes. Two separate builds for you to look through: gw2skills.net/editor/?fIAQNBiYDbkzp6N5x5BHOAgeUFXbZK0T6hYolGA-jEyAoLioZ6DMBCiQAk9KiGbltIas6FMdJRUNA-w -Full on Soldiers. Toughness kind of sucks (1874 toughness), but you make that up for almost 30k hp, you can actually reach 30k hp with ascended. gw2skills.net/editor/?fIAQNBiYDJkzV9TeO/AA6RVctlpQPpHihWaA-jEyAYMBZ6DMBCiQAkALiGbltIas6FM1JRUNA-w -Full Knights: You get more toughness out of it (2113 toughness. You can pack a punch with you hammer, and still be hard to kill as you support. -Goals: blast those fields, keep might up, fear anyone who tries to prevent a stomp/or tries to stomp your allies. During siege utilize Death from above on those flame rams as you jump down, push back anyone at the drop point, dealing damage, push back, and theres no aoe cap on DfA. And if the enemies dumb enough to not have wasted your flame rams before setting theirs, punish them by jumping down, DfA..hit the flame ram fear and watch em burn and fear..for added fun hit "Fear me" again. -Keep up your stuns, train your enemies..and res allies in large groups (or small ones) with Battle Standard. Between healing shouts, might stacking, 4 condition removals from your shouts (you get 2 for "Shake it off") -Might not be on par with D/D ele, or Guardian but most will be happy if you run this. Lots of blast finishers for your team, stacking, and minor heals/stuns. whats not to like?

If you're going for an all-around support class, then a staff Elementalist just can't be beat. Fire fields? Check. Water fields? Check. Swiftness? Check. AoE choke damage? Check. CC's? Check. A biased answer by your's truly.
But in terms of being a front-line battler and still providing terrific CC's and blasts? The Guardian is superior. Oh man, that '2' hammer blast... just so useful. And a dodging AoE-healing build on that mother fucker? Terrific, absolutely terrific.

What do you intend to do with him?
If you intend on running in the "Pain train" witch most commander's are favouring ATM than:
Guardian. Warrior. Elementalist.
Can't get enough of these my "Pain train".
