Alright,
Constructive criticism here only please. This is not a place to call individuals out or shit talk. This is only for recognizing mistakes we've made so that we don't make them again and so that others can learn from them as well.
I am a firm believer that the best way to improve ourselves as a server is to recognize our faults and mistakes in order to improve strategically. First off we need to recognize that Our Borderland is the key to the game. When the homeland is strong we are free to romp around EB or other BL's with impunity.
Tonight we lost all our keeps, despite having the numbers to repel them on the TS.
The lesson to be learned from this is that if we lose a keep, suddenly and without notice we likely have a large enemy force and as it turned out tonight a massive golem rush.
At the same time we were preparing a golem rush on overlook.
We need to prioritize. Losing fortified keeps hurts us in the long run much more than taking a keep we don't plan on holding will help us. If we had the numbers, like SF did, to camp Overlook for hours on end and still defend and cap other things in EB that would rock. We don't though.
Anyways this is just a suggestion for the future so we can improve as a server.
Any criticisms of my criticism is welcome, lets brainstorm and dominate on a strategic level since numerically we will not, for now.

Just like in the middle of a push, our server overextended tonight; we got cocky off of capturing HoD's entire Borderlands and they came back with a vengeance. I'm not saying we shouldn't push for HoD's territory, but I do believe that there needs to be a primary focus on holding their grounds should we choose to do so.

I completely agree with you there.
Another thing we need to encourage is picking what BL to raid. During the first week of this match, the scores where tight, but our tendency to take ET's stuff (they are the easier of the 2 though) didn't allow us to really pull away from HoD.
Remember, in those situations, every HoD point we hold is worth 2 in the long run.

SIEGE PLACEMENT
inner wall ledges only if on walls. highest point possible. OUT OF AOE REACH IS IDEAL.
acs: in sight of a gate. out of sight of meteor. out of sight of ballistas.
ballistas: when used defensively, they are inherently risky because they have to be on outer wall ledges to have a down angle shot. however, there are several places you can toss them that are out of reach and they have a clear shot at the gate nearby (NE tower, hills, garr, veloka by way of ogrewatch or N keep, possibly jerrifer (but i havent been there in a really long time). offensively - only use to take out siege and only use if you can place it on a HIGH LEDGE.
catapults: NOT USEFUL DEFENSIVELY THIS PATCH (ac has taken its place, and if an ac cant reach youre gonna need a treb). offensively - find the edge of ac range.
treb: either point blank behind a gate or on the highest points possible, ALWAYS IN A SPOT SAFE FROM AOES

I had a lengthy post typed up but the intertoobs ate it. I'll note two things: - As a server we lack map awareness. It is a skill like any other and its importance cannot be overstated--commanders especially. Don't give away half the BL because you've got tunnel vision in whatever you're doing. Cross-map intel about large troop movements would also be great but there doesn't seem to be a channel for it. Similarly, it would be great if we could call in 10-20 bruisers to smash a dedicated attacker when we're short on defenders.
- We don't have reliable intel. We typically have lots of people on maps where we have points but on the rare occasion that we get intel, it's one or more of wrong, incomplete or too late to do anything about. This is especially true with the 30s sword delay. All T3 towers/keeps should have at least one scout during primetime--we should never lose a T3 anything to ninjas, ever.
I'd love to discuss the meta and other observations I've made in my three weeks here. I'd rather not do it on a forum that just anyone can read. Two coppers from a retired T1 commander--YMMV.
