This is what I have gathered and my proposed tactics to destroy AGG (well, more like beat them barely)
Defense against AGG:
You will definitely need to tell people what skills and jobs they'll be running far before the actual fight, like at least 5 minutes notification so people can see exactly what they will be needed to do. Your first priority is to let the pugs die. If not, tell any glass cannons or uplevels to stay completely out of the fight until you know you're going to win. I've thought about stacking on a commander and using a mass invisibility as soon as they come, allowing the pugs and uplevels to die and then have time to sneak around them with an additional veil. This doesn't have to happen but it was my suggestion. Now to real steps.
1) You NEED stability for the initial push. AGG will CC you and you will be dead before you can react unless you have 2 stunbreakers at least. Many classes can only get stability from elites.. there is nothing wrong with this. If you can't run stability, use any invulnerabilities or casted blocks during the initial push instead. For class by class stability refer to the following:
Ranger: ELITE: Rampage as One
Engineer: Elixer S for burst negation in tiny form, could use Elixer X but that's risky as you know
Thief: ELITE: Dagger Storm, you wont be doing much else anyway so you might as well reflect their range
Guardian: Stand your ground
Warrior: Either Dolyak signet or balanced stance (You could burn Rampage if you wanted)
Elementalist: Armor of Earth
Mesmer's could run distortion but that's hard to do, I suggest adding a guardian to your party and try to steal off of his stability shout
Necros will be explained shortly..
2) We need to rip their boons. They rely on having FULL team stability during their initial push as well and can have up to 8 boons on every single one of them. There are 3 skills that can do this very well and if you play these classes you will need to use them, I mean NEED.
Necromancer: Well of Corruption. This well ticks to convert a boon an enemy into a condition 5 times over 5 seconds to 5 enemies. That's 25 boons converted, and no doubt you ripped their precious stability and protection. You can additionally way other wells for immense support.
AFTER you lay well of corruption, you need to switch to your elite (this may happen nearly at the start of the fight, so you need to be quick), the Lich Form. Lich Form's #5 skill is insaneeely helpful. The skill rips ALL boon on target enemy and nearby enemies (that's ripping 5 people's boons at once, with 3 necros you could perhaps rip the entire AGG force's boon.
3) If done correctly, they will immediately retreat. This should happen in about 10 seconds so unfortunately your stability will likely be over with unless you used your elite. They will lay a line of warding with their Guardian and try to reapply their stability, but ofcours not everyone will be able to. Now is the time to lay your CC and use any offensive elites you have not used yet. Try to either run around their line of warding or if you have stability you can run right through it. Regardless of what you do, you ABSOLUTELY NEED to keep pursuing them, since you have the upper hand.
4) They will likely keep dying slowly as they try to restack.. Don't let them rally, stomp if you need to. You probably have more numbers anyway.
5) gratz mr. pro commander
